‘FTC investigates Twitter’

The American marktwaakhond FTC would be investigating Twitter and the way in which the microbloggingdienst with developers deals with. It is possible that the company is suspected of abusing its market position.

The developer of the app ÜberSocial would be approached by the Federal Trade Commission, reports Business Insider. The FTC would be investigating the way Twitter deals with developers of apps for its platform. ÜberSocial, then ÜberTwitter called, was one of the two apps some time ago, a few days were blocked by Twitter, due to the alleged privacy violation.

Possible wants the FTC to investigate whether Twitter is abusing its market position by users of the official Twitter apps on to penetrate. In march suggested Twitter developers to new apps for the microbloggingdienst to develop, to the ” fragmentation of the user experience. There is a large number of apps for Twitter. Twitter took recently, TweetDeck, a popular Twitter client for the desktop.
