With the Force Series GT is Corsair’s latest addition to its solid state drive range is realized. The GT’s are, just like previous GT-series with the Dominator geheugenrepen, souped-up versions of the Force series.

The Force Series GT ssds are, like the Force 3 series solid state drives with a sata-600 interface. The drives are similar to the Force 3 ssds, but Corsair promises slightly better performance than drives. Although the sequential transfer rates according to the specifications with an increase in speed of 5MB/s only marginally better, and the number of iops that the disks can process is identical, the GT series is mainly to better handle non-compressible data. For many solid state drives delivers the work with such data a prestatiedip.

The GT ssds are available in two variants. The smallest, 60GB version achieves sequential speeds of 555MB/s and 495MB/s for respectively reading and writing, and processed to 80,000 iops. The 120GB version read with up to 555MB/s, write up to 515MB/s and gets 85,000 iops. A 240GB version, which also 555MB/s read and 525MB/s write, comes available on short notice. The 120 and 60GB versions cost respectively 280 and $ 150.
