Cheetah robot can run jump over obstacles

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has its cheetah robot learned to run over obstacles to jump. It would be the first robotic four-legged friend are autonomous with a speed over barricades and jump off.

The MIT shows in a video how the mechanical cheetah, the hordes. The institute has the four-legged friend to do this with a laser sensor to determine the distance to obstacles, to determine the height of the hordes. The robot then determines how his steps should turn to at the right time take the plunge, by extra force with his hind legs.

Jumping over obstacles with a height of 40 cm is not a problem for the cheetah and also fully autonomously over multiple barricades can jump on the four-legged friend by now. Multiple organizations are working on four-legged robots such as Boston Dynamics and the defense branch, Darpa.
