Apple responds to criticism on Final Cut Pro X

Apple has a faq published in which the answer to the criticism about his new video editor, Final Cut Pro X. The software manufacturer from Cupertino promises a number of problems in a future update to fix.

Final Cut Pro X came out a week ago on the market and offers a revamped and simplified interface compared to Final Cut Pro 7, while also a number of features that has disappeared. Apple was, however, shortly after the release of the necessary criticism. One of the main complaints was that there were no projects from previous versions imported. Also missing is multicam support, as well as the ability to move selected audio tracks to export.

In a new faq gives Apple reply on the criticism. The company acknowledges that the multicam feature is not in version X is present, although this is an important tool for editors. A future update should fix this, but it is unclear yet when this will appear. Apple reports the same for the export to formats such as omf, aaf and edl; a future update should add this, although there is already a xml-exportmodule in Final Cut Pro X is available.

Apple says that the fundamental changes in the X version, such as the transition to 64bit, it is impossible for existing Final Cut Pro 7 projects to import. Users can use this older version, however, will continue to run in addition to Final Cut Pro X. Continue to expect Apple that the developers of plug-ins that are currently not working, soon an update will be provided.
