A wireless charger…. What added value I thought this a few years ago came on the market. Especially when I heard what the average price is for such a charger. But a voucher in your christmas box and a lot of broken charging cables later I still eventually purchased. I’m gone for the ZENS Singel Wireless Charger. This is the cheapest charger out of the range of the Dutch company ZENS. So I’m testing to see if it works better than the old cable.
What’s in the Box!
When I got the box open did I came across a small round Disk, a usb-to-pin cable and a manual.
The manual: This shall not very much for…. In ten languages state it in brief what you can and cannot do, and also something about the warranty.
The cable: This is a regular cable with on one side a usb plug and on the other hand, a 5v pin which reminds me of the old Nokia chargers. And these fit also
Before I go any further into the slice, I wanted to say that I am very strange like that there is a charger of three tens no 230V adapter. While you are correct, as a manufacturer, this adapter can optimize for this specific charger.
The disc
When I took the charger out of the box took I noticed that this rather small. The top is of a kind of rough matte plastic that I quite like the feel.
The bottom is made of a kind of chrome plated plastic. The same stuff that’s always around the screen of the previous S-line keys was Samsung. And if it afbladderde there was white plastic underneath
Furthermore, on the bottom a rubber ring(for the grip) and there is the logo, and the input(5v 1.8 A). To the front there is a small led status of the charger and on the back is the input for the power plug.
In use
The charger, use in combination with a Nokia lumia 735. The loading surface of my phone is somewhat below the middle as you can see on the image below. So I put my phone always just below the middle on the charger.
If the charger is on the net is connected to fire the led. Once you get the phone it is the led blue and red. This means that there is loaded. If the phone is charged the led turns itself back off. The led can also have other things to view.
-Flashing blue: according to my phone is charged but I believe that the unit is not in firm contact with the load.
-Red/blinking red: This means that something is not seated properly. There is then a wrong power supply to the charger according to the manual. or you have another metal object in the charger placed. (attempted
The loading itself is not faster than charging via a cable. The advantage is that you get a message you can reply without that you’re behind the charging cable remains the hedges. When you’re done with appen, or send an email put the phone back and charge his way.
My phone(4.7 inch) fits well on the charger, but for people with a much larger phone, and maybe a larger charger is a better plan.
What also struck me is that my phone in a very long time to load fairly warm. This nevertheless gives that this is not the most efficient lwa nte way of charging.
Power consumption
The charger I used in combination with an old HTC charger (5V x 1A = 5W) that I had lying around. This is actually far too little, if you compare it with the input on the back of the charger( 5V x 1.8 A = 9W) Crazy enough, according to my flow meter the HTC adapter continuously 7W deliver if it is loaded.
I have checked that I am using other phone and/or ipad adapter 9W could pick up but I have not been saved. Also with the ipad adapter I picked up to 7.9 W of absorbed power. (be careful not to put too much on my wall gebeunde power strip, you need some in a student house
More importantly, perhaps, the standby power consumption for a wireless charger allows you to stay in the socket. This is according to the manufacturer almost nothing. My electric meter did not out so the standby consumption is indeed very low.
Despite the fact that I there is no adapter for the charger, and the use of materials is reasonable in the charger a solid place on the corner of my desk. Just because it’s so simple and works well in daily use.
