SAP has HANA’appliance software released. Some SAP customers could HANA already use, but now anyone can have a server with the database software order. The software is meant for large amounts of data.
As of this week everyone can the HANA software to order, so SAP has published. The database software is intended for processing large amounts of data and could in the memory of servers maintain, so data can be more rapidly retrieved than when hard drives need to be consulted.
It is not known what a HANA installation costs; the purchase of this type of packages is generally done on the basis of a tender. HANA supports both sql – if the mdx language for doing queries, but the software is optimized for Business Objects 4.0 SAP. That version comes out in July.
HANA as a package together with a server are provided; among others, Dell, IBM, HP, and Cisco servers with HANA software. In september is more clear about HANA AppCloud, where SAP HANA software as a service. HANA should, inter alia, with Oracles Exadata-database software to compete.
