India brings 35-eurotablet at the end of this month

At the end of this month to the first 10,000 Indian Sakshat tablets with a price of only 35 euro hatch. In the next four months there are 90.000 pieces. Ultimately, the price of the 7″tablet will fall to be converted 17 euro.

The tablet introduced a year ago announced, but the release was several times postponed. At the end of June, the first 10,000 copies, however, delivered at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, writes the Times of India.

The tablet has a 7″touch screen, supports wi-fi and usb, 2GB memory and a storage of 32GB. The device runs on an unspecified Linux variant and comes with OpenOffice.org, SciLab, and a browser.

The tablet is intended for educational purposes and must, among other things, the free download of teaching materials. After the first batch have yet to 90,000 specimens of the conveyor rollers and the government hopes that the costs in the future to be able to reduce from 2200 to 1100 Indian rupee, that is, from 35 to 17 euro.
