The Force is strong with these ones. Fans of Star Wars celebrate this weekend in the American city of Anaheim Star Wars Celebration. With a new movie coming up was the Convention Center there, the stage for the biggest Star Wars party ever held.

The Convention Center in Anaheim is in the game industry especially known for his connection with Blizzard, that the building is annually used for its Blizzcon event. This weekend was Anaheim, however, occupied by a very different fanschare. For a moment it was the Convention Center to the Mecca for everything and everyone that the Star Wars franchise, cares, during the Star Wars Celebration. Thousands of Star Wars fans, many in Star Wars costumes put, found their way to the place where Episode VII-director JJ Abrams personally the newest trailer of the film announced.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens was obviously the big attention-grabber during the Star Wars Celebration, which opened a panel which includes JJ Abrams and be a part of the cast had arrived. The panelists answered questions from fans and showed the new trailer, which, of course, the deep impression made on the existing fans, some even to tears touched. Entirely provided by the organisation, that the trailer in the venue, therefore two times to be seen.

The panel and the release of the new trailer were the start of the event, which overall consists of a show floor and various rooms where several presentations are given and other activities are held. The show floor let is still best described as a giant supermarket for Star Wars stuff. Thousands of fans marvel at all kinds of collectibles, ranging in value from a few dollars for the cheapest toys to thousands of dollars for special, virtually unique images of well-known Star Wars characters. Who doesn’t want to spend money can in the row to several small Star Wars games to play, or to a presentation of Star Wars: Battlefront to attend, what Led did earlier for the preview of that game.

In other small and large meeting rooms, there is attention for everything related to Star Wars. Think of panels with the actors, in which there are long rows, but also sessions about Star Wars origami. Já, that is.

Who wants to know more about the sound or any other aspect of the movies, you can visit one of the many behind-the-scenes sessions where various employees of Lucasfilm text and give an explanation. Who still wants to go, even the big stars of the movies to meet during signing sessions. Here must, however, get the purse to be drawn. Visitors need a ticket to buy at all in the row, may stand at the book signings, but nothing a meeting with, for example, Mark Hamill or Carrie Fisher more is in the way.

Still, that is not the things that most fans of Star Wars to Anaheim. That honor goes to the social aspect of the whole. For many in the Jedi or Stormtrooper suits hoisted fans is the see and be seen, and a reunion with many people she through the Star Wars community for years know. Each other’s outfits to admire, and with each other in the picture, is for many a central aspect of the Star Wars Celebration. That goes very far. So far, in fact, that the Stormtroopers that you may have seen on stage during the live stream of the JJ Abrams-panel not employees but fans were. That fans got of the Lucasfilm very early on the specs of the new Stormtroopers, under the condition that they are their suit before the beginning of the Celebration would have and that there is nothing about it on the internet would put. Result: a large group of Star Wars fans with a perfectly beating Stormtrooper-costumes.

There are probably a total of 150,000 visitors to the convention. When back home, they will very likely a good number of dollars lighter, but they have a wonderful experience for you recovered. Just as a large part of the employees of Tweakers they will later this year slowly the days countdown to december 18, when Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens in the cinema. It still takes quite a while so. May the force be with us.
