Facebook comes with its own iPad app

Facebook comes with its own iPad app. That writes The New York Times. Previously went the rumor that Facebook Apples downloadwinkel App Store wanted to avoid and a browserapp wanted to make one for the iPad, with its own applications.

The app should be sometime in the next few weeks come out and is fully optimized for tablets, The New York Times writes. The newspaper bases this on sources that are informed of the plans of the social-networking site.

The lack of an iPad app is striking; Facebook had an iPhone app ready when Apple opened the doors of its App Store opened in 2008. The iPad version of the app was expected; Facebook would just work on a way to the App Store to work and own browser applications want to offer via an html5 platform. It is unclear whether the html5 platform is, and whether that is in the iPad-app will sit; the previous rumor talked about dissemination through the Safari browser.

Smartphones and tablets are becoming more and more important for Facebook. Where a year ago, 100 million members of the social networking sites visited via mobile devices, that number has now risen to 250 million.
