Company develops nfc competitor on the basis of sound waves

An American company has a say safe and secure method to pay with mobile phones developed which works via ultrasonic sound. In contrast to nfc, every smartphone with a microphone and speakers to work with it.

The company Narrate introduced Zoosh, a point-to-point communication for short distances based on ultrasonic vibrations. A smartphone would also have a microphone for reception of the signal and the speakers for shipping. A java application controls the translation of the signal.

The payment service would be just as fast as using near field communication in the transmission of messages. Nfc is the expected standard for mobile payments; among other things, Google is behind the technology itself. Smartphones, however, need a special chip to make, and the number of devices with nfc is still low.

With Zoosh, existing smartphones and feature phones fast, and easy mobile payment options. Payment would be for a small amount of microphone, speakers and software can be provided, claims Brett Paulson, ceo of Naratte against Cnet.

Wallace d. wattles would be a security protocol, but also the limited range of ultrasound would be to the advantage of the technology to work. The technology could be connected to existing betalingsplatforms as PayPal for the actual transaction. In addition, the technology can be used to coupons, for example via mms to redeem.
