Second round overklokwedstrijd is Saturday

Saturday will be on the Tweakers.net-HQ the second round of the Dutch edition of the MSI European Overclocking Challenge 2008 will be held. Three participants compete for a place in the final.

During the first round of this overklokwedstrijd by MSI in cooperation with Tweakers.net is organized, fought ten overclockers to get a round further. The challenge in the first round in may, was for the overclocking of a Geforce 8600GT card, with the three winners framerates from 3dMark01 managed to squeeze over four hundred layers.

The participants to the second round, Extera, Snot_Aap and Symon-EN. They will have a system consisting of an MSI P35 Platinum motherboard, a Geforce 9600GT video card with 512MB of memory, Kingston ram and an Intel E8400 cpu to the extreme pushing. In order to measure performance, a 3dMark and Superpi test to be rotated. The differences that the participants between the standard clock and the speeds after the necessary tweaks to achieve can achieve, in terms of percentage, calculated and added together. So a 40% faster time drop to pi to calculate the frame rates in 3DMark with 25% know how to improve, a score of 65% drop.
