Good product for if you own a server wants to build, it requires quite some time to get the composition to determine. Manual is comprehensive but some information is missing.
Pros
- Feels solid
- High performance motherboard
- Huge uitbreidmogelijkheden
- 3 Gigabit ethernet ports
- VMWare ESXi certified
Cons
- Rear panel feels cheap/ugly.
- Only 2 ports work with ESXi

DoelNa far too long used to have a old HP Compaq DC7700 with Ubuntu Server (If the storageserver for raspberry pi/kodi), the switch to this motherboard/system to different virtual operating systems to install it using VMWare ESXi. I was not only crazy from the crack of the HP Compaq DC7700 but also because it was so slow and difficult to manage.HardwareBuiten the composition and installation of my laptop barebone (Clevo P150SM-A) this was my first zelfbouwsysteem. The build of the server was not because I had to pay attention that there are enough connectors available to 2x Intel Xeon E5 v3 to provide power. I found it a chore to get a proper power suply to find through pricewatch but eventually I opted for the Corsair RM850i.
The looks of the system I found is not very important but because it is a ATX motherboard and I would like sufficient opportunities to get my drives to places I have chosen for the Raijintek Agos Black. To my own idea of a good case with the disadvantage that he is very small, it is still a chore if I in the future, the 2nd CPU + Fan should install. I suspect that switching to a larger case than necessary. An advantage of the case are the many dust filters that are easy to clean. There is enough space for the cables already, this is a moment of fiddling with tie wraps.
Corsair Hydro H80i GT performs great but I guess that I better a normal cooler could use. I cool my system preferably with an advanced water cooling because it is much too much of a hassle with the hoses, fluid, pumps and leakage danger.
At the time of writing my server is still an ongoing project but already a while in use. I try the server then also gradually expand.
The current configuration consists of:
- Corsair RM850i Power Suply
- Corsair H80i GT Cooler
- Raijintek Agos Case
- 1x Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 (14 cores, 28 threads. 2 GHz base clock-3 GHz turbo)
- 1x Samsung M386A4G40DM0-CPB (32GB LRDIMM ECC RAM)
- All the old hdd’s I have at home still could find.
- Kingston DataTraveler G3 8GB (Boot device)
The start of the system is not very fast because he was first a POST is going to run. Once started, I’m no more problems. The processor is more than powerful enough for the systems that I turn, the hard drives are actually too slow and I am considering switching to the Samsung 950 Pro 512GB SSD + M. 2 to PCI adapter for my virtual machines. The working memory of the server is almost to its max and will-after replacement of the hdd’s to upgrade.
