Once upon a time, hypercars were the preserve of a few noble builders. Thanks to the advent of electrification, several other realities they are proposing very high performance models. The Swiss manufacturer Morand Cars has plans to launch a new supercar in 2023 which will be; proposed with both a hybrid powertrain and a fully electric one. For the moment, this car exists only on paper but the company aims to have a first prototype running with a hybrid engine by the end of the year. The 100% electric prototype should be ready, however, in 2022.

HYBRID OR ELECTRIC car

The idea is; that of creating a model not only able to offer very high performance and that is light and with excellent rigidity; structural but also respectful of the environment. Precisely for this reason, thanks to a collaboration with Bcomp for bodywork and interiors sar & agrave; also used an eco-sustainable composite material known as Amplitex. The body of the car, on the other hand, will be in carbon fiber.

The details of the hypercar are not very many yet, after all it is; still under development. As for the hybrid model, there will be & agrave; a powertrain consisting of a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 endothermic engine combined with three electric motors (2 positioned on the front wheels). Overall, there will be around 1,200 hp (883 kW) available. Also present a battery capable of allowing an autonomy in electric only of about 70 km. The entire powertrain will be combined with a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

As for the electric variant, the powertrain will be; composed of 4 electric motors, one for each wheel. There should be around 2,000 hp (1,471 kW) available. To power the whole a 70 kWh battery equipped with cells with a density; energy higher than that of the cells used in Formula E (about 180 Wh/kg). The autonomy should reach 301 km. The goal is to also offer extremely fast charging. From a 350 kW column, about 10 minutes should be enough for a full tank of energy.

The goal is; keep the weight of the electric model below 1,250 kg (1,370 kg that of the hybrid). Both cars should be able to reach 400 km/h . To reach 200 km/h, the hybrid model will employ & agrave; 6.3-6.5 seconds. A total of 73 units will be built. with the hybrid hypercar that will leave from a price of a little more; of 2 million euros . For the moment, it is not; the name of the car has still been communicated.
