Renault expands the range of its Megane. For the compact 5-door comes the new E-Tech Plug-in Hybrid version which adopts the same Plug-in engine already installed; present inside the Sporter variant (Here our test). Let's see the details.

ENGINE AND AUTONOMY

The powertrain & egrave; consisting of a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine combined with 2 electric motors. Overall, there is 160 hp (118 kW) available. According to Renault, the E-Tech Plug-in Hybrid system saves up to 40% fuel compared to an equivalent combustion engine. This new Plug-in model is part of the French car manufacturer's ambitious electrification strategy . For the moment, this new version of the Megane & egrave; only been marketed in France. Details on the arrival on the Italian market have not been disclosed.

Obviously, even the Italian prices have not yet been released. However, it should cost something less than the Sporter Plug-In Hybrid which starts at 37,250 euros.
