At the end of 2019, Ekot made a series of features about the group of Islamists that Säpo has wanted to expel because they threaten the country's security.

A large part of the features were made by Sanna Drysén, who, among other things, was behind the painful report about one of the men – the so-called Gävleimamen's son Raad Al-Duhan, who is convicted of threatening to kill Gefle Dagblad's editor-in-chief Anna Gullberg.

< Yesterday, Doku revealed that Sanna Drysén has begun a relationship with Raad Al-Duhan, who is today registered with Drysén's mother at an exclusive address in Stockholm. It also emerged that the Ekoredaktionen had become aware of the situation, but darkened it externally. The reporter voluntarily chose to leave Ekot.

At the same time, Sanna Drysén's so-called sob report about Raad Al-Duhan remains on Swedish Radio's website, including an empathetic interview she did with her boyfriend in December 2019. The interview received when it first published harsh criticism for being biased, including by terror researcher Magnus Ranstorp .

In “Aktuellt” on Wednesday night, Ekot's boss Klas Wolf-Watz participated. He then explained that he “stands behind” Sanna Drysén's features and that he intends to leave them on the website.

– I have landed in that the elements last. I'm behind the content. It is news-relevant that they are still published, he said.

Dokus Sofie Löwenmark, who was behind the revelation, also participated in Aktuellt and was critical of Ekochefen's line.

– I thought there was reason to criticize these reviews already when they were broadcast. There were 17 elements and all had about the same angle. No counter-image was heard, the other side. The interviews with these people were very directed in their favor, and this also applies to Gävleimamen's son, said Löwenmark.

Klas Wolf-Watz held, however, is of a different opinion.

– I do not agree with that. It was a very important review that was carried out, he said in Aktuellt.

The articles, which may therefore remain on SR's website, have now been marked with an addition:

“Ekot has been criticized for parts of the reporting on this topic and the circumstances surrounding a former employee. Take part in that debate via the links below. “
