Mit Siduction 2021.1.0 („C-Blues“) erscheint eine Neuauflage der unter anderem auch von dem auf ComputerBase bestens bekannten Linux-Entwickler Ferdinand Thommes herausgegebenen Community-Distribution auf Basis von Debian Unstable („Sid“) und Linux 5.10.15 mit insgesamt fünf aktuellen Desktop-Umgebungen.
Debian-Derivat in fünf Geschmacksrichtungen
Das aktuelle Release von Siduction, welches auf einem Snapshot von Debian Unstable vom 7. Februar basiert, wird diesmal in insgesamt fünf Geschmacksrichtungen („Flavors“) angeboten und kommt mit dem modernen KDE Plasma 5.20.5, der seinen Weg auch in Debian 11 („Bullseye“) findet, dem von Linux Mint bekannten Cinnamon 4.8.6, dem modularen und runderneuerten Xfce 4.16 sowie LXQt 0.16 und LXDE zum Anwender. Auch die Software ist entsprechend aktuell.
Siduction 2021.1.0 („C-Blues“) stellt das erste Release der Distribution seit der Veröffentlichung von Siduction 2018.3.0 („Patience“) und somit seit fast drei Jahren dar, was auch damit zusammenhängt, dass der Chef-Entwickler („Agaida“) im April 2020 verschwunden und nicht wieder aufgetaucht ist.

Die Desktops Gnome 3.38 („Orbis“) und MATE v1.24 bleiben diesmal außen vor und haben es nicht in das aktuelle Release geschafft. Der aktuelle Betriebssystem-Kernel Linux 5.10.15 wird vom init-Prozess Systemd begleitet und das Hauptaugenmerk diesmal auf KDE Plasma gelegt.
