How can be alleviated the poverty in the world? Answers have been looking for Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo, and Michael Kremer. Now you get the Economics Nobel.

The Nobel prize for Economics this year goes to the native Indians Abhijit Banerjee, the French-born Esther Duflo, and the American Michael Kremer, the King announced-the Swedish Academy of Sciences this Monday in Stockholm.

The Academy paid tribute to, especially the “experimental approach” of the three researchers. Thus, the Problem of poverty could better approach, by partitioning the topic into smaller areas such as education and health care. The scientists have achieved a number of successes with experiments that are tailored to the people concerned. “As a direct result of their studies more than five million Indian children of effective programs for the tutoring in schools benefited.” Another example is the high level of subsidies for health care, which had been introduced in many countries.

All three prize-winners teach at American universities: Banerjee and Duflo (who are married to each other) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (mit), Kremer at Harvard University.

Duflo, who was born in Paris in 1972, is the youngest Person to ever win a Nobel prize and only the second woman in the history of the award.

Duflo said, in Economics, women would not be welcomed always welcome. You hope that your success will work “many, many other women to be inspired more, and a lot of men, to show them the respect that they deserve as any human.”

To all the winners of this year’s Nobel prizes have been announced. In the past week had been awarded in Stockholm, already, the awards in the categories of medicine, physics, chemistry, and literature, on Friday, the announcement of the Nobel peace prize winner in Oslo, then followed.

All the prices are worth nine million Swedish crowns (approximately 830 000 euros). This prize money to get the Honored on may 10. December, the anniversary of the death of the inventor of dynamite, Alfred Nobel, presented together with a medal and a certificate.

Since the first award in 1969, a German was first among the prize-winners: The Bonner scholars Reinhard Selten received it 25 years ago, together with John Nash and John Harsanyi, for pioneering contributions to the non-cooperative game theory. The most frequently US-Americans were honored, including the Duflo so far the only woman, the Professor Elinor Ostrom.
