After four years of a Teenager from London wants to leave their home of choice “Islamic state”, to give birth to her third child in the UK. Two she has already lost. But no country wants to host.

“Well, The Saj” – that was the reaction of the British tabloid “The Sun” on the decision of the interior Minister, Sajid Javid, the so-called IS-bride Shamima, the British government Begum to be stripped of their citizenship. Javid knows what goes down well: According to a survey conducted by the news channel of Sky, 80 percent of the respondents hold fast to his step. And the Parliament, a Petition is just to withdraw all the British IS members the nationality, to prevent them from returning – more than half a Million signatures have already been received.

Meanwhile, experts suggest more and more alert. The interior Minster had broken international law, warns the public of the well-known lawyer Philippe Sands. Also Gracie Bradley of the human rights organisation Liberty, says that the interior Minister might have acted unlawfully. For Shamima Begum is born in the UK, has, in addition to the UK-no passport – now she may be stateless.

Return with no regrets

As the daughter of immigrants from Bangladesh, Shamima Begum was born in Britain, had spent her whole life in the East End of London, before deciding four years ago, as a fifteen-year-old, to the IS to join. Without the Knowledge of her family, she traveled together with two school friends to Syria, and married within a short time a Dutch jihadists. Two children has brought them there, according to their own statements to the world, both of whom died shortly after birth, through malnutrition and disease. A third Baby is only a few days old – this kid wants to pull in its home country – in the UK.

In Interviews with British television channels, she shows little remorse: in the Beginning, it was in the IS-field “quite nice”, “like in the Propaganda Videos”. Even with the atrocities of the IS, such as public beheadings, they’ve had no Problem, but “Islam is okay”.

Is the withdrawal of the Passport illegal?

So it’s no wonder that many Brits do you want to have them in the UK, and that the interior Minister Sajid Javid speaks from the heart when he says: “anyone Who supports Terror, has to reckon with consequences.”

Both legally and morally, but his Actions, it is problematic to criticise human rights activists. Of course, the British Public must be protected, says human rights activist Gracie Bradley – but that should not come at the expense of the rule of law. According to UK law, Shamima Begum can not only be deprived of the citizenship if she is stateless.

Sajid Javids the Ministry of the interior, however, is of the opinion that Begum had a right to the citizenship of Bangladesh, the country of origin of their parents. But the relevant Ministry in Dhaka sees it differently – she was in Bangladesh not welcome.

The lawyer for the family wants to appeal the decision. David Toube of the extremism specialized Quilliam Foundation, warns that the case was legally very complex, court cases could take years, as long as would be Begum purely practically stateless.

The “landfill” British problems

And from this, the moral problem arises: During those years, Shamima would remain the Begum is probably in Syria, in refugee camps. “We treat the North of Syria as a garbage dump for our problems,” says Toube. It’s the UK had a duty to deal with the Begum, and to bring them before the court should there be a suspicion that she has committed a crime.

Nadim Houry, a terrorism expert at Human Rights Watch agrees. He travel regularly in the Region, and the local authorities do not have the intention of bringing from abroad arrived to terrorists in court: “Please take her back”, was their attitude.

Each individual IS a sympathizer, however, stressed Houry, should be held responsible – also Shamima Begum: “We need to find out what exactly you did for the IS.”

The British government should take responsibility

Check in and before a court, that must be the cornerstone of fighting terrorism, the British government, and it should remain so, are the human rights experts agree. The Minister of the interior should not just talk to the people after the mouth. But Gracie Bradley is skeptical: they observed, that the British government is trying more and more to deprive alleged terrorists of citizenship, instead of it in court: It was a “worrying Trend”.
