Three Times the Japanese space probe Hayabusa 2 is set to touch down in these days on the asteroid Ryugu and take samples. Also, an IED is to be used. The probe had deposed before the Lander.
Hayabusa 2 is set to touch down three times on Ryugu of dust and stones on the eyes
The Asteroid Ryugu 162173 is about 300 million kilometers from earth. Since the end of June 2018, the Japanese space probe Hayabusa-2 (the “Falcon 2 orbits”) the asteroid.
22. February to put the probe itself on the celestial body and asteroids, dust and stones to collect. It’s the first maneuvers of a total of three such Country. Later, the Material is to be transported back to earth.
The components – an Orbiter and a Lander seem to resemble the journey of Rosetta and Philae to the comet might be able (2004-2016), but only at first glance. This is because, unlike the Rosetta space probe Hayabusa 2 will send a capsule with the rock samples back to earth.

How come the asteroid dust back to earth?
There are three complicated operations. Hayabusa 2 must always be set up again on Ryugu, the asteroid material pick-up and lift it again.
The Collection of asteroid material Hayabusa 2 uses a complex mechanism: The probe is a cylinder-shaped device on the surface, the – shoot similar to a self – shot system-in case of contact with the surface of a projectile at the asteroid. Then, a so-called Catcher sucks up the dust and particles.
2020 Hayabusa 2 returns to earth again, and bring the asteroid dust.
At the end of the probe grabs the captured Asteroid particles into a capsule. This is sealed and comes together with Hayabusa 2 on the way back to earth, where they the end of 2020, will end up – if all goes well.
Low attraction could cause the probe to Tumble
A major challenge for the Mission is the minimal attraction of the asteroid. The landing maneuver must be cautiously taken. Because there is a risk that the probe bounces off of the surface and around uncontrolled tumbles.
It is not the first Time that the Japanese space Agency, JAXA brings asteroid dust back to earth. For the first time in 2010, with the spacecraft Hayabusa had succeeded.
A long journey
More than three years, exactly since the 3. December 2014, Hayabusa 2 on its way. 27. June 2018, the probe reached the asteroid that bears the name of a mystical, Japanese underwater castle: Ryugu.
MASCOT looks like a microwave but has an Arm to push off.
Asteroids, like comets, the original celestial body. They allow us a look back in the history of the solar system more than four billion years ago. This makes them interesting for researchers. Asteroids are also in focus, because they are a potential threat for us.
Ryugus trajectory is away for the next few centuries, far from earth, but similar to near-earth asteroids could be the earth one day, quite dangerous. Therefore, the researchers want to learn as much as possible about these types of celestial bodies.
A German-Japanese-French Lander
And a little Hayabusa 2 of Rotetta, and Philae is different: The Japanese probe brought with him, not just a Lander, but four.
In addition to Mascot, the probe had two MinervaII Mini-land a robot on 22. September 2018 dropped. On 3. October, the Japanese space probe had thrown off the German-French gauge “Mascot”.
The small device is about as big as a microwave oven, landed on schedule in a few minutes after the separation of the probe “Hayabusa 2” on the heavenly body. The country has made measurements with the data of researchers of the origins of the solar system on the track want to come. “Mascot” was in the direction of the Asteroid “pushed,” wrote the DLR at the time, on Twitter.
The landing was a complete success.
The country the device comes from Germany and France
Mascot is 9.6 kilograms. The Lander of the “Mobile Asteroid Surface Scout” (MASCOT), built by the German centre for air and space travel (DLR) and the French space Agency, CNES, is equipped with a Schwungarm.
It allowed him to hop on the asteroid surface and thus to improve its Position and to change, if he will be unfavourable. He has, among other things, a camera, a Radiometer, a spectral microscope and a Magnetometer.
Three years Hayabusa 2 was on the way to the asteroid Ryugu
The use of Mascot lasted only a few hours, however, under extreme weather conditions. On-the-spot temperatures of minus 47 to 63 degrees Celsius. After that, the Lander remained on the asteroid.
Until the asteroid dust can begin his journey back to earth, the spacecraft and the Flight controllers on earth to do much: Until the end of 2019, Hayabusa 2 will measure the asteroid circles, him, and, with its remote sensing instruments to explore.

`Oumuamua: Is it really an Asteroid?
Hayabusa 2 has an infrared spectrometer, the Mineral and water content measure, and a thermal imaging camera to investigate the temperature and the thermal inertia of the asteroid.
And one more feature it has to offer, Hayabusa 2 to: you should leave a two pound copper body on the asteroid fall, the – so, the researchers hope, can be an artificial crater behind. Through him, the probe should take a look under the surface of the comet and analyze life.
Currently, the NASA spacecraft Osiris-REx is also on the way to the asteroid 101955 Bennu, also known as 1999RQ. Also, you should take soil samples and likely 2023 bring back to earth. Bennu is more dangerous than Ryugu. The probability that he has the earth in the last quarter of the 22. Century hits, ies, in the case of 1:2700.
