The losing presidential candidate Martin Fayulu want to be able to prove that he won the election. The constitutional court should not give him right, it could escalate the violence on the streets.

Hours took it to the police, Martin Fayulu and his attorneys left through the road barricades in order to enter the constitutional court. Now it only takes about 15 minutes and he leaves the glass the main output.

Surrounded by a cluster of journalists of the Congolese presidential candidate speaks again, what is he preaching for days: “you know that the CENI has invented the election results,” he says of the election authority in the Central African country. Accordingly, he ranks in the presidential election. However, his party has appealed now to the constitutional court complaint. “The votes must be counted,” he urges, as usual, in his engaging deep and quiet voice. “We have had our election observers, who have seen what actually happened, and that you have provided to us.”

In front of a raging crowd, he was already on Friday in the courtyard of the main offices of the opposition Alliance Lamuka read the allegedly real results. The Figures were, after the counting on election day of 30. December, were called in attendance observers in each polling station. Across the country, he would go out as the clear winner, with 61 percent of the place – and not, as officially proclaimed, with 34.83 percent and, therefore, behind Felix Tshisekedi. The in turn, the electoral authority had awarded with 38,57% of the votes to the election winner.

Violence in the streets of Kinshasa

Felix Tshisekedi’s opposition candidate. And so the proclamation of his tight victory was a Surprise to many. For 17 years, the country is ruled by the autocrat Joseph Kabila. He had the elections for two years, move again. However, the euphoria about the elections, did not last long: Since Saturday, the violence is back on the streets of the capital city of Kinshasa and the former Opposition as deeply divided as ever.

Angel Paezo feels cheated. “It has taken the votes of Fayulu, attributable to Felix,” that excites you. She is one of hundreds of supporters of the “numéro quatre” (number four), so Fayulus number is on the choice list. With four fingers outstretched, the protesters and their candidates pay homage to, in chants they scoff at the head of the election authority, holding placards and dancing. Early in the day, more and more people to meet on the wide island of the traffic circle in front of the powerful constitutional court. “We want rule of law and Fayulu, President of this Republic!”, insists Paezo.

The 43-Year-old is a teacher and brings in the end of the month not 100 dollars home. The rich do not to pull her five children, she says. To form a coalition with her fear in front of a government under Felix Tshisekedi, has already indicated, with the party’s FCC, Kabila’s Power is based: It was a crooked Deal, the Tshisekedis election victory cause I cheated, after Kabila realized that his unpopular favourite, Emmanuel Shadary would fail – so the rumor on the streets of the capital.

Desire for Changes to and away from the old System

“We want change because we are living in a crisis,” talk Paezo to be in a Rage: “officers are not well paid, we are bossed around, it is injustice and impunity prevails, students study under poor conditions. Good grades are granted in return for sexual services and the corruption continues. We do not want this Regime.”

In particular, in the Ghettos of the big cities, in poor regions of the country and war zones Fayulu is celebrated by some as a Savior. And that is exactly what made him for Kabila and his Clique so dangerous. Therefore, it was concluded that fraud to an alleged choice, argues the opposition Alliance Lamuka.

The officials of Lamuka understand some of the Power of strong images: you initiate Fayulu as a Martyr, who is detained by the police temporarily to it, a court visit. His lawyers had already filed the night before a constitutional complaint. He only came to the entrance to pick up confirmation.

Some Congolese are excluded from the choice

One of his lawyers Toussaint Ekombe, follows in a black Robe and a thin file under his Arm Fayulu. “We demand that the election is cancelled, the votes are re-tallied and the election authority confirmed that Martin Fayulu has the most votes and the President declared,” he says. For the Manipulation of records: the differing Numbers of their and other election observers, the refusal of the electoral authority, the results are in conformity with the law in each individual polling station to hang up, as well as the use of the disputed voting machines included.

“The last point is that you have to read a certain of the Congo, and those from Beni, Butembo, Yumbi of the election, has ruled out,” he says of the areas that are allowed to choose because of the Ebola outbreak and other conflicts in March. “Now the Constitution says that all Congolese have the right,” says Ekombe. He denies that Lamuka elections wants to.

Surrounded by the police

Against 14 clock, as Ekombo speaks, swept the streets, directly to the constitutional court. Everywhere patrolling police officers. The peaceful demonstrators on the forecourt were forcibly expelled, reported Betu Poka Ruben. The 25-Year-old Student on the phone a couple of Blocks and tried to guide his brother. But, he’s afraid to meet again on the police officers. “We were four of us, two of us were arrested, my little brother is still out there somewhere, he was injured in the left eye,” he explains. He is a sporty type. To him, the escape was a success as the police with tear gas and rifle butts to several hubs around the courthouse on the population started. “Even now, many of us are still of the police are pinned down, others have been removed from the Jeeps,” he says.

The situation is confusing. From different directions had opened up Protesters on the way to the constitutional court. Between 5000 and 10,000, such as Désiré Mbonzi Wa Mbonzi later will sum up. “All of this is to evaluate at this Moment is difficult,” limits of the Vice-President of the campaign Fayulus. But one thing is for sure: “Among them, about 80 wounded, some with legs and Armbrüchen, some who have lost the awareness.”

And that could only be the beginning: Who gets among the protesters overhear, to hear the same threat. “If you don’t give us the true results of the polls, we will apply the provisions of article 64,” says the 22-year-old Ngbogi Aimé. He belongs to a group of law students who are on the traffic island. Hold the Banner high and also you forms of stretching to the four shaped up the hands. “Article 64 gives us the Congo, the right to overthrow someone, to grab Power by force to read,” he says. What this means in concrete terms? “You’ll see when it’s done!”
