Black sunglasses blonde hair: Heino is Germany’s most famous folk music star and a cult figure. “Black-brown is the hazelnut” is not the only musical monument that he has set.
Since 1967, Heino is the most famous face of the German Schlagertums. And up to today. While his colleagues of the time that’s either no longer the land of the Living, or age-related externally, have greatly changed, he’s remained an iconic Image loyalty: Very bright hair and a very dark pair of sunglasses – which he must wear due to an eye disease. No matter whether he wears a simple turtleneck sweater with a jacket, or a death’s-head ringed in a black leather jacket throws.
Heino is not only shock fans of the cult. Almost everyone in Germany knows him. The one that is today called “Best Agers”, grew up with his songs necessarily, because these offices rang in the parental living out of the suitcase radio and music chests. The next Generation has seen him next to Dieter Bohlen in the Jury of the TV Casting Show “Germany seeks the Superstar” and knows advertising his mobile Phone (“So fast, fast, fast the LTE is”). Fans of pretty much every well-known German rock band know that Heino of the Doctors to Rammstein has everything covered, what came to him in the Finger and that he was in Wacken on stage at the biggest Metal Festival in the world.
A really tough guy: Metal-greeting with Skull and crossbones

And also this story you know: in 1993, he took the “song of Germany” – the German national anthem, with all three stanzas, and thus also with the one that was sung in the third Reich (“Germany, Germany above everything”).
In 2013, he brings in an Interview with the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung” a Hitler quote. On a question about his then latest record, he said: “If I fall down now and dead am, then it’s been the last Album. You don’t know. But still, I’m steel Yes hard as Krupp, tough as leather and nimble as a Greyhound.” A slightly unfortunate choice of words, he put into perspective later: He didn’t know it was a Hitler quote. The Ruch a certain sympathy for the rights of disposition Heino has vehemently: “I’m not black-brown, your hazelnuts!”
Since 40 years ago, the dream couple of folk music: Heino and Hannelore
Musical Home Minister
Whether black, brown or blond – the man belongs to the German folk music scene like no other: after all, he preserved in a time in which half the world is in a cultural and social upheaval, a piece of German soul. Against the Background of the students of ‘ 68, the Flower-Power revolts-motion, and Beat-Revolution, sings the then-30-Year-old home, mountains, valleys and forests, gentian, horses, Indians and Cowboys. So he sold more records than the Beatles. “I draw in my songs heal the world, because I want to have a perfect world,” he says much later in an Interview.
Solid Weeble-Mentality
The concept holds for decades, Heino remains true to itself. So he piles music awards, Golden and platinum records. He considers it, he parodied constantly, and spurned, ridiculed. A German music critic referred to him as “an emetic the generations”. Even abroad, he stands out: Punk icon and Ex-Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra has created, just to document, “what an incredible fucking music in the world”, a complete Heino-plate collection.
Heino is not distracted and always shows his unwavering Weeble-mentality. With his third wife on the side – the equally famous Hannelore – he opened a Café in a resort town in the Eifel region, and serves a likewise iconic cake – black-and-brown hazel-nuts, of course. As the Café has to give way to the age of 16 to an Outlet Store, he goes after the first Grumble with the new owners a lucrative symbiosis: He sings for shoppende audience, which can strengthen after the bargain-hunting in his new Heino Café.

Most of those Affected are almost horrified and try to ban Songs. No Chance: If the covered songs 1:1 are played back, that is all right, as long as the author will receive the royalties.
Not amused: The dead trousers
His old nemeses, the pants of the dead, need not stunned to listen to Heino reminds her success song “Young” knödelt and feel painful to the fact that Heino’s mind 20 years earlier, so much fun, as the pants made their way over Heino’s funny: they went in the 1980s with their Punk friend Norbert Hähnel in the role of “True Heino” on Tour to Heino this by a court order to prohibit.
The only ones who can deal with this strange Heino-Rock record, are the heavyweights of Rammstein. Invite Heino on the Metal Festival in Wacken. In front of 75,000 metalheads, the 74-Year-old floor is stiff between wild pyrotechnics, and 400 kilowatts of Sound-banging and singing bravely Rammstein-number “sun”. At a respectful distance by Till Lindemann, the acts, as if he would devour him skin and hair. The Metalheadz in the audience and in the network are divided.
But Heino has tasted blood. Especially since his controversial Album landed at number one on the German Charts. So the next rock record comes out a year later with the title “Black is the gentian”. In 2016, released for the UEFA European football championship, the Album “ass card” with a covered football classics.

Because here he covert again, what keeps this stuff: including “days like these” by the Toten Hosen and Rammstein-title “angels”. The latter, he must be supposed to take in the last Minute of the plate: This was not discussed with Rammstein. A little PR stunt to push sales of the album? The attentive reader knows, the is allows for 1:1 cover…
