Religious interpretations of the implementation of the human brakes of rights, the their 70. The anniversary celebrates. But the UN are also in the way, writes the Iranian Nobel peace prize winners Shirin Ebadi.

The universal Declaration of human rights arose mainly European value systems and is, therefore, not with other cultures and religions to be compatible: It is mostly undemocratic Islamic States such as Iran, argue so.

In international forums, the people defended law of the Islamic Republic, Mohammad Javad Larijani officer, full of Pride, the enforcement of “divine punishment” – including amputations of hands of thieves and stoning to death. While I write these lines, sitting people in Iran are in prison because they are followers of the Religion of the Baha’is, because they are supposedly converted from Islam to Christianity, or because they are women who have taken the hijab. The Iranian laws, which are used in these cases to justify, to be justified with the Islamic conception of law, violate the human rights.

The 1990 Cairo Declaration

In 1990, the foreign Ministers of the Islamic countries have adopted the Cairo Declaration of human rights in Islam, adopted by most of the Islamic countries including the Islamic Republic of Iran. If we understand this explanation as the own way of the Islamic countries in the implementation of the universal Declaration of human rights, then it is not a problem. If these countries do not understand your statement, but as a counter-proposal for the universal Declaration of human rights, you are on the wrong track.

Muslims who give themselves the right to adopt, on the basis of their Religion a Declaration of human rights, would have to be the followers of other religions. In the result of a variety of people would be announced right explanations: a Jewish, a Buddhist, and many more. This would not be universally applicable and enforceable human rights law is obvious.

The Communist Tradition rejects “capitalist” human rights

Reservations atheist States equally wrong

Officially of countries such as China is not an atheist with Communist rule systems, the universal validity of the people accept the right also. The rights were grounded in capitalist value systems, and not with the socialist compatible.

Also, this line of reasoning is wrong. Freedom of expression is not in contradiction to socialism and communism does not mean arbitrary rule. There are dictators who take the communism and implement it. Both the Belief in God as well as the Belief that there is no God, have become pretexts for the suppression of people.

Shortcomings in the UN

The United Nations and other international organizations have placed their main focus on civil and political rights. The Social and economic rights has not been given sufficient attention – it is one of the reasons for the spread of poverty in the world. That is why the human rights not found in the population in the global South the necessary attention, and undemocratic governments to violate those rights.

Also the inefficient Work of the United Nations, in particular the human rights Council, has prevented any real progress in the field of human rights in the past 60 years. In the drafting of the UN Charter, it was optimistic that most of the States enjoying the support of its citizens and, therefore, as a representative of the interests of voters possible human rights violations and to eliminate it would clear up.

However, many governments do not comply with any elected representatives of their citizens and the demands of the world public. How can we expect countries that have failed repeatedly and continuously against human rights, denouncing human rights violations in other countries? We think only of the membership of countries such as Saudi Arabia and Syria in the human rights Council.

“Without economic and social rights, other rights, no acceptance”

To the globalization of the judiciary is part of

The human rights have as long a difficult position, as long as those that hurt you, can go unpunished. The jurisdiction of the International criminal court is limited to its member countries. Therefore, new ways must be sought for the punishment of offenders. If courts are not in a position to deliver justice, must come from the countries, which are committed to the human rights of the Victims to help them create opportunities for bringing complaints.

So it is time to speak about a globalization of justice. Persons, which violate the human rights, can be drawn in other countries to account. Globalization will only become a success, if it succeeds, the justice to globalize.
