His melody for “Love Story” has touched many movie fans – and earned him an Oscar for Best film music: the composer Francis Lai died at the age of 86 years.
Francis Lai’s death, the mayor of his birth city of nice, Christian Estrosi, announced in the short message service Twitter. Lai was a “great musician and composer,” he wrote, and expressed to the family his condolences.
Lai was in the 50s as an accompanying musician of Edith Piaf are known.
