The Australian soccer club Central Coast Mariners to let the previous Sprint Superstar Usain Bolt only play again if the contract is with him in dry towels. The chances of that are low.

Bolts well-known victory gesture after his first goal for Central Coast Mariners

The professional career of sprint legend Usain Bolt in the Australian soccer club Central Coast Mariners threatens to fail because of the money. The first team was informed that Bolt is no longer allowed to train with the team, “to ensure that the A-League is not distracted the Team in the preparation for the weekend’s upcoming game against Melbourne City.” Bolt could only join in again, if his Management and the club have agreed on a contract and this was signed.

Bolt calls allegedly 20 times more than the club offers

However, it is rather unlikely, the Mariners, the Jamaican world record holder will accept 100 and 200 meters, the offer of the club, if not yet a Sponsor, think of laying something on top of it. Australian media reported that the Mariner had offered the 32-Year-old of 150,000 Australian dollars (equivalent to approximately 92.600 Euro), the Management of Bolts call, however, twenty times, three million dollars (1.85 million Euro). The Association described the sum as “wrong”, to make non-self-specific information.

Babbel: “it’s not enough in 100 years”

Since the end of his athletics career in 2017, the eight-time Sprint Olympic champion is committed to a career as a professional football player. Some see this as a pure PR stunt, others recognize when Bolt actually good investments – especially, of course, his tremendous speed. One and a half weeks, he scored in his starting debut for the Mariners in a charity game straight away with two goals. Last weekend Bolt in the 1:1 Central Coast in the A-League match with Brisbane Roar was not even in the squad for the Mariners.

“In all love, that’s not good enough in 100 years,” said the German coach of the Western Sydney Wanderers, Markus Babbel, to Bolts football skills. “As a PR-action, it is sensational. The A-League receives from him a lot of attention. But to be honest, I can’t take this seriously.”
