The voices of the children – Syrian refugees in Lebanon

“What would you do?”

Europe should know that refugees leave their homes voluntarily and that they wanted to return, if possible, says Kurdi. Western politicians are responsible for the causes that force the people to flee. Therefore, it is also your duty to do something about these causes.

“Can you imagine yourself in a Situation like this? What would you do?” Kurdi asks. “A large number of people on the run, and I understand that each country has a limit,” she says. “But I also think that Nations that support a side of the war in these countries, are for the cause of the refugee crisis,” says Tima Kurdi. “Until we have found a solution to end the war and the crises in these countries, refugees have the right to seek asylum and a safe place to stop. Until then, all these countries should take in refugees.”

Generation of Trauma – the children of the Syria war

Italy is acting inhuman

Kurdi criticized, especially Italy because of its current crackdown on migrants trying over the Mediterranean sea to reach the Italian coast. “It is very, very sad, especially in Italy. Italy has supported the war in Libya. Therefore, you are for the thing responsible. It really hurts me that says, basically: ‘Let them in these boats die, and not drown, we open up our borders’. What’s with all the people who say such a thing! This is unacceptable and inhumane.”

Without a family life

“The 2. September 2015 was the worst day of my life,” says Abdullah Kurdi, Alan’s father. Kurdi lost on this day not only Alan, his wife and another son were drowned. “You can’t imagine what happened to me, as I had to watch as my wife Rihane and my sons Ghaleb and Alan of the lake and were swallowed up.”

“Syria needs help,” says the father of Alan, Abdullah Kurdi

The father of a family had initially lodged a refugee application in Canada that was rejected. Therefore, he paid for the tractor, which should bring him and his wife and children in front of the IS and the Syrian civil war to safety on the Greek island of Kos.

Help for innocent children

His sister, Tima, who is already living as a recognized refugee in Canada, has funded the Crossing. But the tiny boat capsized a few minutes after it had left the Turkey.

Tima and Abdullah Kurdi founded Kurdi Foundation, with the help of the war-affected children want to help. “I ask for nothing more from this world as innocent children in need of urgent help, will be helped,” said Alan’s father. His sister has written her memories of her nephew and the escape of their families. Her book “The Boy on the Beach” (“The Boy on the beach”) is published in April.
