Who will advance the money for the ESC in Israel: the government, or the Israeli TV-channel “Kan”? That a dispute about the orientation of the upcoming music Contests seemed to wobble. Now there is a solution.
ESC-winner of the Netta
According to information of the edition of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Israel, competent TV-channel “Kan”, going to the station by the deadline on Tuesday (14.8.) the equivalent of around twelve million euros. The European broadcasting Union (EBU) had demanded the sum as financial protection for the expenses of the sweep.
A spokeswoman of the “Kan” announced that they would take the money out of the budget for the year 2019. The transmitter will expect, however, that the government will be solely responsible for the basic funding of the event. From the Israeli Ministry of Finance, there has been no comment.
The Dispute
“Kan” and the Israeli government had argued violently over the cost of acquisition. The transmitter claimed in a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a co-financing of the approximately 24-million-Euro competition. Without money, there would be no ESC, threatened the station. The government had refused to knits, the event co-Fund and “Kan” is advised to take out a loan.

The Hedge
The European broadcasting Union had the deadline for the receipt of the insurance sum on Monday (13.8 in.) confirmed: “Each year, financial guarantees must be given to the EBU, before plans are created, and the host city […] is announced.” To September would be the venue. Four times a contribution from Israel has been able to capture the ESC victory. 2018, the singer Netta, won in Lisbon with her song “Toy”. Therefore, the next ESC routine should take place in the home country of the winner.
