You either love him or you hate him. The German Schlager is a cult. To the beat of move 2018 in Hamburg, we present the sizes of this particular style of music. From Heino to – of course – Helene Fischer.

    With over 50 million albums sold Heino is undoubtedly a pioneer of popular song. His trademark dark sunglasses, platinum blonde hair and a deep voice. Super hits like “Beyond the valley” made him known – but also Covers controversial folk songs such as “black-brown is the hazelnut”, which were sung by the Hitler youth.

    The singer and composer from Berlin who wrote, incidentally, to Boney M. and other texts, was in 1965, suddenly famous by his immortal Hit “marble, stone and iron breaks”.     Andrea Jürgens was only ten years old when she sang in 1977, one of the most successful hit of all: “And I love you both”, composed of Jack White. The child star that once was made it in 2010 with “I’ve got a heart” at # 1 on the airplay charts in the blow category. After her long career, she died of failure of 2017 to the kidneys.

Without hit it’s not: With its simple song structures, crystal-clear melodies and banal, but heart-rending texts Schlager belong to Germany, such as potato salad and sausages.

Schlager Singer Heino (2015)

In the 1960s, Stars such as Heino mainly of traditional folk songs, waltzes from the 19th century rebelled. Century and early pop music. Thanks to popular television shows such as “hit parade” (1969-2000) and “Disco” (1971-1982), the development of the Schlager, then to a corny, disco-infused music mix that made it on the dance floor successfully.

The Hit resulted in a new Generation of Fans.

Nevertheless, such successes were the nostalgic and sentimental songs of the Seventies, not outshine. Singer Andrea Jürgens sang in 1977, at the tender age of only ten years, the Hit “And I love you both”, will be forever with this Golden time of the hit.
