NFL: more protests against racism

The Boycott of the US-national anthem of quarterback Colin Kaepernick a year ago, led to discussions of racism and intolerance. After the riots in Charlottesville is the topic in the NFL.

The Protest against racism and injustice in the United States to take in the Football professional League NFL. On Monday, twelve players of the Cleveland Browns went just before the preparation game against the New York Giants (10:6) when playing the US national anthem pointedly on the knee. Some standing team-mates laid their hands on the shoulders of the professionals.

After the bloody riots, during a Demonstration of the extreme Right in Charlottesville/Virginia, the last Michael Bennett of the Seattle Seahawks was not up to the anthem and had announced to want to do it during the NFL season as well. Now, the 31-Year-old got a lot of support.

For the first time a white NFL football player went to Cleveland on the knee: Browns-Tight End Seth DeValve, whose wife is African-American. “I’m not going to raise children who I look like. I want to help you to grow up in better circumstances than the ones we have,” said DeValve.
