Unemployment in Germany continues to fall

In June, the unemployment in Germany declined further. The number of employees has reached the highest level since reunification in 1990.

The number of unemployed in Germany fell in June by 25,000 to 2.473 million. Thus, there were 142 000 for unemployed less than a year ago, as the Federal employment Agency (BA) announced on Friday in Nuremberg. This is the lowest in June since 1991. The unemployment rate fell by 0.1 points to 5.5 percent.

“The number of unemployed people went in June for seasonal reasons, further back,” said BA chief Detlef Scheele. The employment and the demand of companies for new employees would have again been growing strongly.
