Telenet wants to increase the price do not reverse despite protests

Telenet is not going to a previous month of announced price increase for its services to turn back. The kabelaar got a lot of criticism on its intention to use rates up to 2 lwa 3 euros per month to increase.

The prices of various services of Telenet are from January 25, higher. So goes the price of Basic Internet + Digital television with a 1.99 euros up. This means that subscribers will soon monthly 51,69 euros have changed hands for the package. In addition, the prices of the triple play packages Whop and Whoppa up, respectively 65,49 euro or 75,94 euros per month. Also loose internet access and television subscriptions are more expensive, as well as the rental of a hd-recorder and a FreePhone Europe-subscription.

Telenet says the price increases are necessary because the cost for the company would be increased. Nevertheless, started angry customers on Facebook last week, a petition in which the kabelaar was summoned to his plans. This resulted in more than 25,000 expressions of support.

Telenet does not seem to under the impression of the angry comments: the director of marketing of the company says that the increases can be justified because the company has to offer. So, the company offers hotspots and updates to upgrades allowing speeds of up to 1Gbit. “In addition, customers are free to come and go,” said the kabelaar.
