Google endorses maker ‘cinematic reality’-wearable

Google along with other companies for an investment of potentially a half a billion dollars in the company Magic Leap, claims Re/code. The American company is working on ‘cinematic reality’: the representation of 3d-objects in combination with the real world.

Magic Leap is developing a wearable, and the associated software for the augmented reality application with three-dimensional display. The company’s aim is to be the 3d representation of objects as well as possible to combine with the reality, but how Magic Leap that you want to achieve is still unknown.

However, spoke to the ceo, Rony Abovitz, according to Re/code earlier on that the company believes “the most natural and easy-to-use interface for wearable computing to have developed”. Compared to the Florida Business Journal, he said that virtual reality and augmented reality what it regards antiquated terms that their promise is not fulfilled, and that therefore the term ‘cinematic reality’ is chosen: “as soon As you see this you know that this is computing for the next thirty or forty years.”

According to Re/code, the projection images in high resolution on the retina of the user are projected in a similar way as Google Glass. If users have their focus adjust, would be the depth of field of what is displayed has to adapt. This would allow for a more realistic effect. Magic Leap speaks of a ‘3d light sculpture’.
