Archos has launched two new budget smartphones announced that Android 4.4 to run. The 45c Platinum features a 4.5″display, while the 50b Platinum has a 5″touch screen. Both phones have a quadcore-soc from Mediatek.
4.5″screen, an ips panel, the 45c Platinum has a resolution of 854×480 pixels. The phone runs on a Mediatek MT6582, a quad-core-soc that is clocked at 1.3 GHz. There is 512MB ram present, along with 4GB of flash storage. The storage capacity is to increase via a microsd card of up to 64GB.
The 45c, which on Android 4.4.2 running, supports 3g networks, bluetooth and wi-fi. There can be two mini-sims in the unit be placed. To the rear is a 5 megapixel camera, the front a 2-megapixel camera. The battery offers a capacity of 1700mAh.
Although the hardware of the 50b-implementation is largely the same, has this variant in the Platinum series, Archos has a bigger screen. The 5″touch screen, also an ips-copy, has a resolution of 960×540 pixels. Also the battery is more powerful with 1900mAh and the 8-megapixel camera has an led flash. Archos can deliver at this phone two extra covers, a 8GB microsd card and a screen protector.
The 45c Platinum will have a price of 109,99 euros. Archos asks for the 50b Platinum 149,99 euro.
