Website ov-chip card contains since January privacy issue

The website of the ov-chip card includes at least since January, a security vulnerability allowing users to sometimes get information from other travelers can see. The technical service of the company behind the ov-chipkaart was, however, not previously informed.

Trans Link Systems was at the end of January already informed of the problem of privacy. Because of this, per chance, the name, the address, the reisoverzicht and the balance of another, so reports NU.nl. The notifications about the problem proved, however, not be forwarded to the technical department, enabling the organization to only last week’s action took.

The leak is probably not until Tuesday resolved, making it still possible that people who sign in on ov-chipkaart.nl information of others get to see. It is not known in how many cases that actually happens. TLS lets us know that the site is not offline will be disconnected until the problem is resolved. This is the website used too much, so says the company.
