Microsoft would plan to use the start screen of Modern UI, the environment with Live Tiles in Windows 8, in the future, by default, to disable on pc’s. The Windows-version for devices like tablets and hybrids would be the surrounding area show.

That writes Neowin Monday based on anonymous sources. That claim on the basis of early builds of a new Windows version, which is currently known under the codename Threshold, Microsoft to the start screen on mouse and keyboardgebruikers by default, no longer shows. Tablet and hybrid users would Modern UI still get dished out, although this is not yet fixed.

The step seems to be in line with the price that Microsoft is now moving. The American company took with Windows 8.1 Update 1, all carefully goodbye to Modern UI on pc’s, after users complained about the ambiguity of the new environment. Since that update, Windows can be directly booted into the desktop, the taskbar is now visible in the Start menu and in apps have a title bar visible, which offers the possibility to use the old-fashioned cross to exit the program.

The techgigant want to slot an extensive start menu bring back. That start menu was a combination of the classic menu of earlier Windows versions, and a menu with Live Tiles of the Windows 8 start screen. According to the latest rumors, Microsoft brings the start menu until the beginning of next year. The Windows developers would want to wait until the release of Threshold, which is larger, and for april 2015 is on the agenda. Possible Threshold available as Windows 9.
