As British foreign cloud services, the British secret service, their calls are easier to retrieve than when they are through British networks to communicate. The British government notes calls using foreign cloud services namely as ‘external communications’.

That happens even when it comes to communication between two Britons, writes The New York Times on the basis of government documents, which by privacy organizations are acquired. As long as foreign communications networks or search engines are used, communications should be requested, even if there is no concrete suspicion.

So-called internal communication is the Uk’s stricter protected; should only be requested if there is a concrete suspicion, appointed in a court order. The government bypasses that legal protection so a large part of the domestic communications to be regarded as foreign. It is not known how often the government is the ‘external communication’ is actually requesting.
