The parent company of Grand Theft Auto developer, Rockstar, Take-Two, has an American brand name for ‘City Stories’ registered. It is not known whether the request related to a new title in the GTA series, or just as a precaution.

The brand name was last Monday awarded by the American agency for patents and trademarks. Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories are in the trademark referred to as related products. It is not known why Take Two the brand name requested, but may be it has something to do with a new, still unannounced bundle of the GTA series or a game for next-gen consoles where Rockstar are currently working on.

However, it is also possible that the registration is only a pro-active measure, the registration of a brand name for the Bully series in november 2013 to date, no new game produced. Rockstar is at the moment still busy with GTA V, last week it came with a major update for the online multiplayer that players have among other things gives access to a number of new luxury apartments and five vehicles. Also is there somewhere in the spring for an update that ‘heists’ to the online multiplayer of GTA V brings.
