Acer announces passively cooled TravelMate-laptop

Acer has a new laptop in the business TravelMate-line announced. The TravelMate B115P features a touchscreen and an Intel Pentium quad-core, which is no fan for the cooling needs. The manufacturer provides the model further from a ssd of 128GB.

Acer offers no details about the processor, but most likely it is a recent economical quad-core based on Intel’s Bay Trail platform, such as the Pentium N3530 with tdp of 7.5 W. More systems with these chips are passively cooled. The battery life is according to the Taiwanese company up to seven hours. Also get the TravelMate B115P up to 8GB memory, an ssd with a maximum storage capacity of 128GB.

The weight of the laptop is almost 1.4 kg and the thickness is 21.2 mm. The cover contains an aluminum layer, and the TravelMate is over previous models in the series of a new design, which Acer ‘FlowCurve’ calls. The screen is a 11.6″touchscreen with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The Windows 8.1-laptop will be released in mid June in the Netherlands for a yet unknown price. Beginning that month, also a version without touchscreen: the TravelMate B115.
