Intel has Monday 43 new processors to its range added. It comes to cpus in the so-called Haswell Refresh series, about a slightly higher clock speed than existing similar models. The chips are meant for system builders.
It is going to be the tray-based versions of 26 desktopprocessors, and 17 processors for laptops. For the desktop models involves Core chips, Pentiums and Celerons which in most cases is 100MHz higher clocked than the existing models which are a step lower on Intel’s price list. Only the S – and T-models go there 200MHz on ahead.
The models are available for system builders and the price is valid when buying in large quantities. The boxed versions come in may be available, together with motherboards on the basis of the Series 9 chipset: Z97 and H97. The 9 Series gets a new version of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology and with its support for ” Intel RST for PCI Express Storage. In addition, there is new management and security features.
At the laptopchips, five new quadcore processors and four dualcores with a tdp of 37W, which is 100MHz faster walk. In addition, there are six Core chips for ultrabooks with a tdp of 15W and two Y models with an even lower fuel consumption. These processors get a 200MHz higher clock speed.
