Founder and ceo of ‘Russian Facebook’ is still redundant

Co-founder and ceo of Vkontakte Pavel Durov, the Russian equivalent of Facebook, is out suspended. According to ex-ceo the site is therefore now under the control of two persons who have warm ties with the Kremlin.

That says, the ex-ceo on his own Vkontakte page. Durov had previously been know to board, but withdrew that statement shortly thereafter. According to a statement of Vkontakte has Durov its earlier request for dismissal has never been formally withdrawn. Therefore, he is, now, a month later, automatically are suspended.

According to Durov, he has from the media must know that he would have been fired. He calls the decision ‘obscure’ and suggests that the formal decision an excuse to get him out the door to work. According to Durov’s Vkontakte by his dismissal is entirely in the hands of Igor Sechin and Alisher Usmanov, who is both a major shareholder and warm relationships with the Russian government. Durov sold earlier his shares in the website.

Durov declared that his earlier decision to blow-off was due to the increased influence of the Kremlin on Vkontakte. So there would be requests coming in for pages of opponents of the Russian government to close, while Durov stands for the freedom of expression. Also there were recent reports that the Kremlin, the social-networking site used to be Ukrainians, to spy on; the site is next to Russia also in surrounding countries.
