Screenshots show Bing-a replacement Cortana for Windows Phone

Microsoft insider Tom Warren of The Verge has some screenshots of Cortana, the upcoming Siri competitor from Microsoft for Windows Phone 8.1. Cortana pulls data from Bing, Foursquare, a own Notebook, and mail users.

The now published screenshots show that Cortana, the name of which according to Warren is not yet determined, on the start screen, a bar has to search to type in and a button to put something in to speak. The suggestion that Cortana gives is: “Is it cold in Moscow?’, suggesting that Cortana uses natural language.

Cortana may, in addition to search queries also give suggestions such as Google Now does, claims Warren. This retrieves the information from the mails, as is shown in a settings menu. Also, Cortana, things like location and personal data in notes app Notebook users, that according to previous info can view and edit. As with Siri, the user can ask for a nickname to be referred to.
