Mozilla provides two years after the announcement of the browser public beta for the Modern UI version of Firefox free. The browser has the name Firefox for Windows 8 Touch and includes, among others, as main feature a special home screen.
In February 2012, the Windows 8 version of Firefox was announced, but the release has been several times postponed. To the browser for a long time was under the name of Firefox Metro worked, but Mozilla has the software now renamed to Firefox for Windows 8 Touch. The browser includes a new appearance that matches the Modern UI interface of Windows 8, formerly known as the Metro interface. The application works in the classic desktop mode of the new operating system.
The main new functionality is the home screen, which among other popular sites, browsing history and the bookmarks showing. In addition, its touch gestures as pinch-to-zoom and swipe. Also is the Snap functionality of Windows 8 are supported, for display next to another app.
The browser is as beta to download. The final release should be on 18 march to take place.
