Sharp announces hdtv with 16 million subpixels to as uhd-alternative

Sharp has during the CES: new tvs in the Aquos HD, Quattron, and 4K-line presented. In addition, the manufacturer with Quattron+line, which has more subpixels than a regular hdtv’s offers and, hence, a position between that tv and uhd models need to take.

The entry-level models of Sharps 2014 line appear in the Aquos HD series. This tv’s smart tv functionality, 120Hz-refresh rate and 3d viewing experience, and the resolution is 1920×1080 pixels. The price starts at 1300 dollars. A step higher in the product range, the Quattro-tv’s, a refresh rate of 240Hz and Sharps Quattron technology offer and in addition are equipped with a revamped version of SmartCentral platform of the manufacturer. The Quattro-line has a starting price of $ 1,700.

Sharp releases the Aquos 4K Ultra HD models with beelddiagonalen of 60 inch and 70 inch. The manufacturer introduces this in the USA for, respectively, 5000 and 6000 dollars. These tvs include four hdmi 2.0 ports.

For consumers who have too much money, but who still want more than a regular 1080p model, the Sharp, the Quattron+ has been developed. These tv’s offer, although the resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, but the number of subpixels is 16 million. Sharp divides to do this, each pixel in half. According to the group, the Quattron+ is the only hdtv that 4k content can play, and an upscaler would images in lower resolutions sharpen. The prices of these models range from 2300 dollars to $ 6000.
