Nintendo announces Hyrule Warriors for Wii U

The Japanese gamesfabrikant Nintendo has Hyrule Warriors announced for the Nintendo Wii U. The game is a hack ‘n slash title with Zelda hero Link in the lead role. The game is not developed by Nintendo, but by Tecmo Koei.

According to Nintendo president Soturo Iwata, who is the game during the Wednesday held Nintendo Direct presentation introduced, Hyrule Warriors is a cross between Tecmo Koei’s Warriors series and The Legend of Zelda. The title is derived from the game world in which the Zelda games take place. However, should gamers fail to see this as a new chapter of The Legend of Zelda; Nintendo loves that games series under control. Hyrule Warriors should thus more be seen as a spin-off. The title Hyrule Warriors is not the final name of the game.

In the Nintendo-released trailer shows how Link fights against a large number of enemies, which is always one of the basic ingredients of the Warriors games from Tecmo Koei. It should also Link to deal with a number of between – and bosses, and to see that Link hunt for treasure chests in the game world.

Hyrule Warriors was the most important announcement that Nintendo made during the Wednesday held Nintendo Direct presentation. During the presentation, Nintendo announced also NES Remix. This game provides gamers with a collection of scenes from classic games from the Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong series, but in modified forms. Also, Iwata announced that a Dr. Luigi-game in aantoch is for the Wii U. The game looks a lot like Dr. Mario, that in turn resembles the classic game Tetris.
