“Intel roadmap shows new business M. 2 and pci-e ssds’

There are slides published by Intel presentation which coming enterprise solid state of the company. It comes to ssd’s with M. 2-package for ultrabooks and pci-e models with a maximum storage capacity of 2TB. In the first half of 2014, they should appear.

The slides that Myce publishes show the Temple Star ssds for ultrabooks and laptops, which in the second quarter as SSD Pro 2500 Series on the market. Intel delivers them in the narrow M. 2-package for ultrabooks, but there is also a regular 2,5″models. The maximum storage capacity in M. 2 80mm is 360GB, 2.5″variants is that 480GB. The ssds support AES 256-bit encryption and OPAL 2.0 version and the sequential read and write speeds are respectively set to 540MB/s and 490MB/s.

The difference between the P3700 and P3500 is located mainly in the endurance: the P3700 would be trouble-free 10 complete drivewrites per day for a period of five years should be able to withstand, while the P3500 is a specified write endurance of 374TB.
