Canonical brings the first stable Ubuntu Touch version for smartphones

Canonical has together with the release of Ubuntu 13.10, the first stable Touch version released. This version runs on a Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 and would, according to Canonical basic functionality. It is also an sdk available.

Ubuntu Touch for smartphones provides basic functionality to that in the previous builds are still lacking or not yet worked well. For example, a Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 4 be called via a mobile phone network and wi-fi can be used. There is also access to the cameras on the front and back of the apparatus. Within Ubuntu Touch are some of the basic applications available. So include a browser, a calendar, a clock and an app for showing the weather forecast available.

Developers can Ubuntu Touch be accessed via the trusted adb tool within Android to be used. It is also an sdk available that allows interested developers access to templates and documentation.

If the displayserver is running Ubuntu Touch already on Mir. This Canonical self-developed displayserver is in the desktop version of Ubuntu 13.10, also known under the code-named Saucy Salamander, are not present. The code would therefore have to be unstable.
