Unreal Engine 4 is going to be Oculus Rift support

The Unreal Engine 4 from Epic games will support the Oculus Rift. The company behind the virtual reality headset, Oculus VR, which is one of the participants of the so-called Integrated Partners Program Unreal engine.

The Integrated Partners Program of Epic Games implies that the middleware of participating companies is integrated in the Unreal Engine 4. In addition to Oculus VR take Intel, Nvidia, and Autodesk part in the affiliate program from Epic Games. Because the middleware for the Oculus Rift is already integrated in UE4, is it for game developers that the engine use no more need to own that support to build.

Epic Games is not the only one that the Oculus Rift is going to support. Valve recently made Team Fortress 2 is quite playable with the headset and Dice reported last month that it is planning to bring the Frostbite 3 engine, Battlefield 4 and Dragon Age 3 will run, might be suitable for the Oculus Rift. The company Virtuix launched recently a Kickstarter project for a treadmill that can be used for virtual reality applications. The Oculus Rift is seen as the first major contender to vr-glasses wide in the market.
