Samsung presents Galaxy Tab 3 tablets with 8″- and 10″-screen

Samsung has two new tablets, presented, of which the Galaxy Tab 3 10,1″ the first 10″tablet from Samsung with a physical Home button. The tablets will be available starting this summer in the Netherlands, to purchase for yet unknown prices.

Where Samsung’s 10″tablets up to now software buttons on the touchscreen itself, the manufacturer has chosen the knoppenlayout of its smartphones and smaller tablets to the 10″tablet. It is the physical Home button, flanked by touch sensitive Menu and Back buttons. The buttons under the screen are located on the long side of the tablet. For smaller tablets, which are just below the screen in portrait mode.

The Galaxy Tab 3 10,1″ has a dualcore 1.6 GHz processor. Samsung says to Tweakers that the tablet on an Intel processor is running. This probably has to do with the Atom-Z2560-soc. The Intel XMM6360-baseband on the chip, however, has no support for 4g, where the Tab 3 10.1″ that has it. Further, the main memory, a size of 1GB.

The screen in the tablet is a 10.1″lcd with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The rear camera can take pictures with a maximum resolution of 3MP, which is at the front with 2MP. The battery has a capacity of 6800mAh. The tablet measures 243×176.1×7.95mm and weighs 510 grams.

The 8″variant from the Galaxy Tab 3 series has a dual-core processor in the form of an Exynos 4 Dual Samsung itself, at a clock speed of 1.5 GHz and a ram size of 1.5 GB. The soc corresponds to that of the Galaxy S II from two years ago. The gpu is a Mali 400MP4 ARM. The screen is a lcd with a resolution of 1280×800 and a diagonal of 8″.

The tablet measures 210x124x7.4mm and weighs 314 grams. The camera can make pictures with a maximum resolution of 5MP. The battery has a capacity of 4450mAh.

The Tab 3 series consists, therefore, in the meantime, three tablets. The first that is presented is the 7″version. The Tab 3’s with 8″ and 10.1″screen, both this summer. Samsung has no prices published.
