The Dutch Railways do a test with a charging post for cell phones. Owners of phones that, for example, to wait until may so their empty battery for a part filling in for the train. The test runs at Rotterdam Central station.

The trial will be three months away, and then the NS decides if in other stations a charging post for cell phones will be put down, reported RTV Rijnmond. A great success seems to be the pole not yet: last week, the post forty times, so reports the NS. The service is free.

The NS makes use of the Chargr of the company Doqo. The system works with iPhones, microusb or with loose batteries of phones. The user closes the drawer with a self-chosen pin code. Charging takes up to twenty minutes.

Many people find the charger difficult to use: retailers around the pole frequently get people on the floor who come and ask for explanations. It is unclear why the NS for this solution has been chosen, while almost all phones now via a microusb jack can be loaded.
