LG is not working on the next Nexus phone from Google. That says a senior official of the European branch of LG Mobile. LG and Google brought in last autumn, the Nexus 4 and there were rumours about a new Nexus phone by LG would be made.

The South Korean manufacturer has a new Nexus ‘not necessary’, says vice president Kim Won the European division of LG Mobile, in an interview with the Dutch telecomsite AllAboutPhones. “The Nexus 4 was, despite the production problems to be a great success for us and Google. We have such a marketingsucces not necessary, however”, said the ceo compared to the telecomsite. Another possible explanation is that the cooperation is far from flawless: the Nexus 4 was months and months of bad available, then Google and LG together did identify as a culprit.

LG will also no Google Edition release of its new phones, such as Samsung does with the Galaxy S4. “We have no plans to our devices without our own skins, to be delivered as Samsung, that now has done. That has for us no added value,” says the ceo.

LG is the third manufacturer which with Google on a Nexus phone has worked. The first came from HTC, the two after were of Samsung. Google brings each year around the end of the autumn, a new Nexus phone from. The Nexus models are intended primarily for developers. The Nexus phones are generally as a first update to a new Android version, though it is now the support of the first two Nexus devices has been discontinued.

LG brings a partially white variant of the Nexus 4. This unit, of which only the back is white, comes out in late may, after which he within a few weeks also for sale in the Netherlands should be.
