MMD start selling two Philips-21:9-monitors

MMD has two Philips monitors with the ultrawide aspect ratio of 21:9 on the market. It is a consumentenmonitor and a business variant, of ips-panels and resolutions of 2560×1080 pixels. The prices are respectively 499 and 529 euro.

The specifications of the 298X4QJAB for consumers and the 298P4QJEB for business users are virtually identical. Both screens have a diagonal screen size of 29 inches and a resolution of 2560×1080 pixels. The schermpanelen relate to the ah-ips models, so that the screens viewing angles of 178 degrees can boast. The maximum brightness is 300cd/m2 and the specified gray-to-gray response time is 7ms.

The monitors come with displayport, dvi-duallink and a duo hdmi ports. In addition, there is an audio jack for the pc and a headphone jack. Business 21:9 monitor also has four usb 3.0 interfaces. Also, the business model of a foot that is 150mm in height and a hinge that allows the user to screen 90 degrees. The consumer version will, in turn, optionally with a thunderbolt connector available, and also notifies MMD that usb 3.0 is optional on this model.

The manufacturer points out the advantage of MultiView with 21:9 monitors. With picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture, it is possible to take images of two sources to be displayed simultaneously, so that an employee, for example, no two monitors next to each other on his desk.
